Cancellations up to 30 days prior to departure forfeit the deposit. Cancellations 30 days to 72 hours prior to departure forfeit 50% of tour cost. 72-48 hours prior to departure 75%. Less than 48 hours 100%. Please note we cannot be liable for cancellations due to cruise ship delays or port call cancellations. We use a turbine helicopter equipped for IFR flying. In the very rare circumstances that we have to cancel through weather a road trip will be provided instead and the balance refunded.
Take off from downtown heliport for close up views of Auckland City and over the Bombay Hills for panoramic views of Waikato farmland and river and the Kaimai Mountains. Land at the Shires Rest to meet your guide for a 2.5 hour tour of the Hobbiton Movie set including venturing 'Beyond the Door' and be welcomed into a new Hobbit home in Bagshot Row. Continue through the Movie set and see Hobbit Holes, Gardens, Party Tree and Mill. Arrive at the Green Dragon Inn for one cold ale, cider, or ginger ale. Flexible times and 5-6 hours away make this ideal for cruise ship passengers. Waitomo Glowworm cave extension can be added. Return to the main city heliport and transfer back to hotel or ship. Buffet lunch can sometimes be added.
