Toddlers, aged under 3 travel for free. All children must be accompanied by an Adult. Senior pricing applies for passengers over 65 years of age, with proof of age (passport or ID). Groups or Special Charter trains are available on request. Group discounts apply. Dogs on lead are welcome. Please check website for operating schedule and train timetable (varies between seasons). Bikes are carried at cyclists risk. Bike carrying capacity limited, so must be booked.
100% Refund if Trains Cancelled. 100% Refund if customer cancels, up to 30 minutes before journey starts (except for Group bookings). No Refund if for mechanical reason the engine operating on the day is changed from Steam to Deisel. No Refund for delays in schedule due to engine or mechanical failure.

The 90-minute scenic journey takes you back in time and also lets you experience the beauty and magic of the bay of islands like no other experience. Open air and indoor seated carriages provide the perfect all-weather activity; fun for families, senior's and sightseers alike. Local guides talk to the history and point out rare and endangered birds and native flora. Trains run every Friday, Saturday and Sunday all year, and every day in school and public holidays. 5 days, Thursday-Sunday, across our Autumn & Spring schedules (March-May & Sept-Nov), and 7 days in Summer (Dec-Feb). Special charter trains, group bookings & cyclists welcome.
