Located on the Rangitīkei River banks, Mangaweka is great place to break up your journey through New Zealand with a little adventure.
Mangaweka, found between Taupō and Wellington, is the home of rafting, kayaking, river swimming and camping. You know you are in Mangaweka when you see the iconic DC3 Aeroplane sitting alongside the main highway.
Mangaweka is right at the northern end of the Manawatū Scenic Route and the Manawatū Cycleway, part of the New Zealand Cycle Trail.
The local Papa Cliff Cafe serves up great coffee and classic Kiwi treats, while the old main street is frozen in time and makes a great spot to wander down and get some photos.
