International flights operate to and from four Australian destinations - Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne - as well as Fiji.
Trans-Tasman flights are offered by Air New Zealand(opens in new window), Qantas(opens in new window), Virgin Australia(opens in new window) and Jetstar(opens in new window). Fiji Airways(opens in new window) flies between Wellington and Nadi, Fiji.
Domestic flights connect Wellington with a large number of destinations, and are provided by Air New Zealand(opens in new window), Jetstar(opens in new window), Golden Bay Air(opens in new window), and Sounds Air(opens in new window).
Wellington International Airport is located eight kilometres southeast of downtown Wellington in the suburb of Rongotai.

The Stagecoach Airport Flyer(opens in new window) service runs from the airport every 20 minutes from 6.35am to 9.25pm Monday - Friday, and from 7am to 8.45pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. See the Airport Flyer timetable(opens in new window). Airport Flyer departs from the southern end of the airport terminal, level 0 (exit from baggage claim doors on level 0 and turn right).
The route passes through the city centre and continues to Lower Hutt. The fare depends on how far you are travelling.
Approximately $20 for one person, $25 for two - about 25 minutes
A shuttle(opens in new window) is a cost effective way to travel into the city. Discounts apply if two or more people are travelling together - $5 per additional person. Shuttles are normally shared with other passenger groups. The journey between the airport and the city centre can take up to 40 minutes at peak traffic times or when there are several drop-offs along the way. Allow plenty of time to reach the airport for departing flights.

The taxi(opens in new window) journey between the airport and central city can take up to 40 minutes during peak traffic periods. If you’re travelling to the airport by taxi, make sure you allow plenty of time. Taxis licensed to operate from the airport have met the airport company’s quality and area knowledge standards.
Major rental car companies(opens in new window) operate from the terminal building. Bookings are strongly recommended.
