About

Intricate carvings connect visitors to the rich heritage of Ngati Tuwharetoa, each depicting stories of significant events, revered ancestors & traditions that have shaped the ‘Whanau, Hapu, Iwi’ of the region. The world's first man-made silica terraces, reminiscent of the original Pink & White terraces of Tarawera. A Geyser powered by superheated geothermal fluid drawn to the earth's surface from depths of 1.5 km. Te Kiri o Hinekai Stream where a series of pools were traditionally used by Māori for healing & bathing, now a sanctuary for native birds, plants & the regenerated hot water fern. The stunning forces of nature with the profound history & artistry of Maori provide a perfect blend for visitors to explore, learn & connect.
