Approximately 20 minutes flight time. Departing from Tauranga Airport climbing over downtown Tauranga before crossing over the Port of Tauranga and the harbour onto Matakana Island. You might be lucky enough to see some remote surfers catching some waves. A turn around Mauao (The Mount) before coming back to land via Main Beach and Omanu. This trip complements the Mount Magic Scenic Flight with a trip up Matakana Island to create the Surf Safari.
