Your guide meet you at the Skyline Gondola bottom station located at the central Queenstown at 9.30am. We use it to zip you up to Bob's Peak Lookout at 750m above sea level. From here we gently ascend the ridgeline over tussock meadows & emerge above the treeline & up to the Ben Lomond Saddle at 1350m. The trail narrows with steep slopes on either side of you to reach the final zigzag trail to the summit. If we are lucky you will be greeted by a family of kea, the curious alpine parrot unique to New Zealand. From the summit, you can see the prominent peaks of Mt Aspiring National Park, such as Mt Aspiring itself & Mt Earnslaw & Mt Christina in Fiordland National Park. Even Aoraki Mount Cook can be seen far in the distance in a good weather.
