Self-guided • 2 days • 2 nights • Easy grade Min 2x people. self guided Bike ride, guided Kayak glow worm tour. Min age 8yrs. Given the nature of our tours/hires being outdoors, we operate in all weather conditions and recommend that you dress appropriately for the weather. Riverside Adventures Waikato can not be held responsible for any adverse weather conditions while you are on tour/hire with us and as such any refunds are at our discretion and we are under no obligation to do so.
Early cancellation of more than 30 days before hire/tour gains full refund. Cancellations within the 8 - 29 days of hire/tour of all services provided directly by Riverside Adventures Waikato will be refunded 80% of payment and 20% will be kept as credit towards next adventure within 6 months. Te Awa River Ride is one of most accessible & scenic cycling & walking trails in New Zealand. It's the longest concrete path in the country winding its way for 65km.
Day 1 After being shuttled from the Velodrome to Ngaruawahia. Cycle 33.5km from the start of the trail to Tamahere, where your shuttle will drive you to your overnight accommodation. That evening, enjoy spectacular sights you can only experience by kayak. Paddle slowly through the canyon and, when darkness falls, be guided by the magical titiwai - New Zealand glow worms.
Day 2 Your shuttle driver will collect you & take you back to where you finished Day 1 in Tamahere. River views, boardwalks, bridges, picnic stops all meet you as you make your way to Lake Karapiro.
