Dogs and pets are not permitted on the Taharoa Domain (land area surrounding Kai Iwi Lakes) as we need to protect our native fauna and flora. A disability assist or public service dog (as interpreted in the Dog Control Act 1996), may be permitted with written approval. Verifiable evidence of certification will be required in all circumstances. Check-in between 11am and 7:30pm. Check-out time 10am.

Cancellation Policy angle-down

Accommodation is non-refundable and non-transferable should guests decide to alter or leave before their scheduled departure date. This includes (but not limited to) change of mind and inclement weather. Date changes are permitted if within the same season (1 July - 30 June) no less than seven (7) days notice and are subject to availability. An administration fee of $10.00 (per change), will apply for amendments to Pine Beach and Promenade Point campground bookings.

The stunning Kai Iwi Lakes are one of New Zealand’s best holiday spots to stay and play in. Two lakeside campgrounds offer an ideal camping experience for tents, caravans or motorhomes. Explore native bush, walking tracks and freshwater lakes nestled within 538ha of reserve land. Pine Beach Campground is on the eastern side of Lake Taharoa. It offers a true camping experience for tents, caravans or motorhomes. Ice sales are available over the peak summer period. Flushing toilets, hot showers and 1 x standard accessible shower and toilet per male/female. Promenade Point Campground is situated on the western side of Lake Taharoa, with camping for tents, caravans or motorhomes. Flushing toilets, 1 x unisex accessible toilet cubicle.

The Campground main gate automatically locks at 9.30pm, reopening at 7am the next day. Check in between 11am and 7.30pm.
