Climbing Queenstown. Single Cone is the highest point in the Remarkables Mountain Range. The South ridge route to the summit takes follows a ridge line before climbing a steep snow gully, and then a short exposed ridge to the summit. From the Summit there are incredible views of Queenstown, lake Wakatipu, and the surrounding mountains.
The Grand Traverse of Single & Double Cone is a steep and exposed alpine rock ridge climbing over the 3 highest points in the Remarkables before finishing on the summit of Single Cone. the Grand Traverse climb is suitable for climbers with previous mountaineering experience.
