Sunair(opens in new window) connects Hamilton with Gisborne, Great Barrier, North Shore, Whakatāne and Whangārei. Helicorp provide chartered helicopter flights while Hamilton Airport also has the capability to accommodate international charter flights.
Hamilton Airport is located about 15 kilometres south of the city centre.
Shuttle
Approximately $30 for one person - about 20 minutes
A shuttle(opens in new window) is a cost effective way to travel into the city. Discounts apply if two or more people are travelling together - approximately $7 per additional person. Shuttles are normally shared with other passenger groups. The journey can take up to 35 minutes at peak traffic times or when there are several drop-offs along the way. Allow plenty of time to reach the airport for departing flights.
Taxi
Approximately $50 to $60 - about 20 minutes
The taxi(opens in new window) journey between the airport and central city can take up to 40 minutes during peak traffic times. If you’re travelling to the airport by taxi, make sure you allow plenty of time.
