River Road Retreat is locate on 30 acres in the heart of the Appleby countryside. In the spring there are many beautiful magnolias in flower. In the autumn the many decidious trees provide a spectacular display of colour.
Th hot tub has been located in the private garden beside the Retreat and provides wonderful views across the neighbouring vineyard and to the western mountains.

Rate is for 2 Adults. Additional adults $100 per night each.
Minimum of 3 nights stay or 6 nights stay between 20 December to 20 January. Evening dining available if booked 2 days in advance. Fresh Truffles are available during the season June to end of August. A special breakfast can be prepared with Fresh Truffles and eggs by advance arrangement. Breakfasts provided include fresh fruit grown on our property (in season). Our property is not suitable for children or pets. There is a 10% discount for Direct bank transfers. Please refer to Guest Guidelines.
Payment is 50% upon booking and 50% 14 days prior to check in date. For cancellation 14 days prior to the check in date there is 100% refund. For cancellation 7 days prior to check in date there is a 50 % refund Cancellations within 7 days of the check in date receive no refund.
River Road Retreat offers self contained accommodation - organic breakfast included. Our eco designed boutique accommodation, built with sustainable materials, is located in beautiful surroundings with mature specimen trees, inhabited by many species of bird life. Comprising a truffiere, our property is in Appleby on the Waimea Plains, with expansive views overlooking vineyards to the Mt Arthur range. The Retreat is framed by trees and lawns with a large deck. The Waimea River and trout stocked fishing ponds are 5 minutes walk away. Nearby attractions include Moturoa (Rabbit) Island beach and inlet, and the villages of Mapua, Upper Moutere and Brightwater. There are three National Parks and world-class mountain bike trails close by.
