The Rob Roy Glacier track is one of the most varied in New Zealand. From farmland, to swing bridges, rainforest to alpine herb fields with panoramic glacier views.

Often we will see the some cheeky Kea - the world's only alpine parrot.

Rob Roy Track was closed again on 27 May 2023 for Bridge repairs, and is not expected to be open until the summer 25/26. We are offering in its place the Wanaka Glacier Adventure Tour, with a great views of the Rob Roy Glacier from the main valley.

This tour needs a minimum of 2 people booked in to operate. Accompanying Guide FOC, 2 Adults Minimum. Not suitable for children under 8 years. Tour subject to snow and weather conditions.
Less then 24 hours or no show = 100% charge. More than 24 hours cancellation full refund. In case of bad weather the duration and content of some tours may alter. In such cases Eco Wanaka Adventures will offer their clients the best service possible.
Just 1 hour scenic drive from Wanaka is the beautiful World Heritage area of Mt Aspiring National Park – within the park is Rob Roy Glacier. Your guided walk takes you into this magical valley and a short 30 mins stroll takes you to a spot that gives you a great view of the Rob Roy Glacier and valley in the Main West Matukituki valley. We then take you to a beautiful Waterfall to have your picnic lunch (supplied) in this stunning setting. We then head back down the valley to the Diamond Lake and Rocky Mountain Walk walk, to see the Diamond Lake then continue up to the viewing platform over the Lake then onto a wonderful spot with great views over Lake Wanaka. We then return via a different loop track and back to our vehicle and Wanaka.
