Children welcome when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian in our private rooms. Children are not permitted in the shared dormitories. Bookings will be asked to provide valid identification, and valid credit card details upon making a booking and checking in. Prepayment of bookings will be taken on the morning of booking arrival date unless otherwise stated. Credit card surcharges apply and are non refundable.
If booked through a travel agency or third party site, you must cancel or modify your booking through them in the proposed cancellation/modification timeframe. Direct bookings can cancel up to at least 48 hours prior to arrival date, where a full refund will be offered back to the customer. If the customer fails to give sufficient notice to modify or cancel a booking, the booking will be deemed as cancelled and the already pre-charged or applicable rate amount due, will apply.
Here at Based by the Lake we take pride in being so centrally located and in the hub of Taupo's nightlife. Close to a great selection of bars, cafes and shops. We have free WIFI, free BBQ facilities and a 24 hour reception upon request.
We offer basic dormitory-style rooms or private guest bedrooms with en-suite facilities. All of our accommodation is clean and modern and linen is included. The communal facilities include a shared kitchen and lounge area. You can also soak up the sun on the sundeck which features views of the lake and mountains.
Our on site Tejano Cantina is Taupo's only Mexican Restaurant, serving tasty food and an awesome array of drinks with Live music every Friday.
