About

Steeped in Maori history and then once privately owned and almost barren, it is now a wildlife sanctuary and a wonderful example of restoration with an abundance of endangered NZ wildlife.

We have been involved with the Islands past 26 years of restoration including the introduction of Kakariki, Kiwi, Saddleback, Tuatara and more than 12,000 trees planted. We have been involved in the monitoring of the Islands Grey Faced Petrel population and Fur seal colony.

Join one of our 4-5 hour walking tours on the island and learn about its colourful past from our highly experienced guide. We operate fast stable boats and have more than 20 years experience in these waters.
