About

Wheel your kayak or carry your Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) less than 2 minutes walk to the lake edge and paddle along the shores to the mouth of the Kuratau River. A shallow, gentle waterway flowing east from the Tongariro Forest to the Southwest shore of Lake Taupo.

Explore this serene waterway at your pace in your Tongariro Adventures kayak. As you meander through native bush, the only sound you will hear is native birdsong. And when you have done with paddling, just turn your kayak around and let the water current gently return you to Lake Taupo.
