About

Depart from the beautiful Mount Maunganui harbour we make our way to Tauranga to the kāpehu whetū (star compass) that guided our ancestors to these shores since 925AD. Our journey then takes us to Gate Pā, the site of one of the most significant colonial battles. You will be walked through the battle there and the eventual outcomes that include impacts both locally and internationally. We then travel through the forests to Rotorua to the well known thermal valley where you will be entertained with a Māori cultural performance. Returning to Mount Maunganui we travel through New Zealand's kiwifruit region to our marae to be immersed in our Māori culture. Finally we will take in the spectacular views of Tauranga from the hills above.
