Exhibits in the Whangārei Museum include Māori taonga, city development, the natural history of local rivers and forests, relics from early settlers & the 2000-year-old remains of moa discovered in a local cave. Explore the 62-acre Heritage Park where you’ll find the original Clarke Homestead c1886, the unique octagonal Oruaiti Chapel c1859, Riponui Pah School c1898, Jane Mander’s study c1908 and other historic buildings.
