Blue Duck Station is a working sheep and beef farm and conservation project that also offers bush accommodation and unique activities in rural Whanganui.
Our core values are to conserve endangered wildlife, increase the health of native bush and rivers and preserve the history of the area while educating visitors about the endangered New Zealand blue duck, other native species and local history.
Volunteers, or ‘eco-warriors’ as we call them, add to the fun of valley life with a diverse mixture of enthusiastic people coming through. Eco-warriors assist with all aspects of the business from serving customers in the café and answering questions from tourists to gardening, trapping, cleaning and farm work.
Volunteering is free, and we provide accommodation, food and plenty of fun!
