Day 1: Queenstown to Wānaka

Today head towards Cardrona Alpine Resort, approximately 40 minutes' drive from Wānaka.

Cardrona Alpine Resort is characterised by wide-open basins, with beginner trails, long blue runs and off-piste slopes, offering excitement for all. Freestylers are spoilt for choice with four terrain parks, two halfpipes, a gravity cross course and a big air jump. There are also some great kids’ programmes, with facilities to look after the tiniest tots – from 3 months of age – and the Kids Ski and Snowboard School for those up to 14 years. At lunchtime, you can choose from one of eight eateries, all offering amazing views across the slopes.

Today you'll head for the South Island’s largest ski field, Treble Cone.
