The first valid entry randomly drawn from all entries received during the Promotion Period (the Prize Winner) will receive the Prize. There is one Prize available in the draw and no bonus prizes will be awarded.
Competition Terms
1. General
1.1 By completing the entry form on https://www.newzealand.com/au/campaign/intrepid-win/(opens in new window) (Competition Page) and submitting the required information (Entry), you (Entrant) confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Competition Terms and meet the eligibility requirements.
1.2 The Promoter of the Competition is operating this Competition with the Partner.
1.3 The Competition will be conducted through the Competition Page.
1.4 The Promoter reserves the right to cancel the Competition or change any of the Competition Terms in any way it deems fit, without prior notice. The Promoter may announce any cancellation or modification to the Competition on the Competition Page, and Entrants give their consent to the Promoter to send emails about any such cancellation or modification.
1.5 Capitalised terms are defined in the Schedule.
2. Conditions of Entry
2.1 Entry is open to any person (Entrant) that is a permanent resident of New South Wales, Victoria or Queensland, and is over eighteen (18) years of age, but excluding employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, the Partner, and any agencies associated with the Competition. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin.
3. Entry Procedure
3.1 To enter the Competition, an Entrant must complete the Entry Form on the Competition Page during the Promotion Period, by:
a) submitting their full name, email address, and state of residence;
b) signing up to receive 100% Pure New Zealand and Intrepid Travel marketing communications;
c) submitting an answer to the question: “Tell us your dream New Zealand location to visit”;
d) provide any other required details on the Competition Page;
e) acknowledging that they have read an accepted these Competition Terms, the Promoter’s Privacy Policy(opens in new window) and Terms of Service(opens in new window), and the Partner’s Privacy Policy(opens in new window); and
f) acknowledge that if they are chosen as the Prize Winner, in order to claim the Prize, the Prize Winner and the accompanying Traveller will be required to accept additional terms of the Partner.3.2 If an Entrant does not provide accurate personal information in the Entry, the Promoter may determine such Entry ineligible to participate in the Competition.
3.3 Entries submitted by any means other than as set out at clause 3.1 of these Competition Terms will be invalid and will not be accepted. If an Entrant fails to comply with any of the Terms, any Entry submitted will be void.
3.4 An Entrant can only submit one entry.
4. Competition Draw and Prize Claim
4.1 The Prize will be drawn in accordance with the Draw Details.
4.2 The Promoter will endeavour to contact the Prize Winner using the details provided by the Prize Winner in their Entry form, within 72 hours of their Entry being drawn as a Prize Winner. To claim their Prize, the Prize Winner must, within 72 hours of the Promoter’s first attempted communication with the Prize Winner, respond to the Promoter by email in the manner instructed by the Promoter. Entrants should check their junk and spam email folders. The Promoter will not compensate a Prize Winner who fails to claim the Prize due to the notification going to their junk or spam folders.
4.3 If the Prize is not claimed within this period, and the Promoter has made all reasonable inquiries to contact the Prize Winner and has been unsuccessful, or the Prize Winner informs the Promoter that they do not wish to claim the Prize, the Prize Winner may be redetermined via another random draw at the Draw Location, 72 hours after the Promoter’s first attempted communication with the prize winner (Replacement Draw Date).
4.4 Once the Prize Winner has claimed the Prize, they will receive an Intrepid Travel Promotional Code by email. To redeem the Prize and book the tour, the Prize Winner must quote the Promotional Code to the Intrepid Travel sales team and book their trip within three (3) months of the Draw Date, or the Replacement Draw Date (if applicable).
4.5 Unsuccessful Entrants will not be contacted.
4.6 The Prize Winner agrees to be contacted by the Promoter and its Partner for the purposes of arranging the supply of the Prize.
4.7 The Prize Winner’s last name and initial of their first name will be published for no less than 28 days on the Competition Page following completion of the draw.
4.8 The Promoter’s decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
4.9 The Promoter and its Partner assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, failure, malfunction, alteration, delay in delivery, operation or transmission, or other circumstance of any kind, which may affect an Entry or an Entrant’s participation in the Competition. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of any Entrant and Entry.
5. Prize
5.1 There is a total of one (1) Prize to be won consisting of two (2) spaces on the 6-day ‘Queenstown Southern Loop’ itinerary guided holiday tour from Intrepid Travel (valued up to AUD$3,070 per person) (for more information about this tour, visit the Partner website here: Queenstown Southern Loop | Intrepid Travel AU(opens in new window)). The tour includes:
a) Transport during the tour in New Zealand, by private vehicle and ferry;
b) Accommodation: Hotel (2 nights), Hostel (twin share with shared facilities) (2 nights), Cabin (with shared facilities) (1 night);
c) 5 breakfasts;
d) The following activities:
i Milford Sound - Nature Boat Cruise;
ii Milford Sound - Leader-led walk to Milford Lookout;
iii Milford Sound - Walk to Mirror Lakes & Lake Gunn;
iv The Catlins - Leader-led walk to Nugget Point & McLean Falls; and
v Stewart Island - Scenic Ferry Crossing.
5.2 The total value of the prize pool is AUD$6,140. Prize value is based on high season 2023 trip departures. The actual value may fluctuate depending on the departure date selected.
5.3 The Queenstown Southern Loop tour departs and finishes in Queenstown, New Zealand. It is the responsibility of the Prize Winner and the person travelling with them (Traveller) to organise any transport to and from Queenstown, at their own cost.
5.4 The Prize is provided on a twin share basis and is subject to availability and confirmation by Intrepid Travel at time of booking. . The Prize is only redeemable for travel for dates within 12 months of the Draw Date or Replacement Draw Date, as applicable. No compensation will be payable if a Prize Winner is unable to use the Prize within this period or does not redeem the Prize in accordance with these Terms.
5.5 The Prize must be redeemed/booked within three (3) months of the Draw Date, or the Replacement Draw Date (if applicable), and at least 56 days before the trip departure.
5.6 Once booked, any changes to the booking made by the Prize Winner may incur a cancellation fee or amendment fee, at the cost of the Prize Winner.
5.7 A minimum of four (4) customers must be confirmed on the Intrepid Travel trip for the prize winner booking to be confirmed on their requested date.
5.8 Certain components of the Prize include walking over varied terrain, and are best suited to persons with a reasonable level of physical fitness and mobility. If a Prize Winner or Traveller is not able to participate in certain activities due to their own fitness or mobility, the Promoter is not obliged to replace that component of the Prize or otherwise compensate the Prize Winner.
5.9 Any request to change to a different Intrepid Travel trip is at the discretion of Intrepid Travel and is not guaranteed.
5.10 The Prize must only be used by the Prize Winner and their designated Traveller. The Traveller must agree to these Terms (where applicable to them) as a condition of using the Prize. If required by the Promoter, its Partners or any supplier of the Prize, a Traveller must sign any further terms and conditions, agreement, or acknowledgement, including (but not limited to) a code of conduct.
5.11 No part of the Prize can be transferred, exchanged, extended, or redeemed for cash.
5.12 This prize applies to the land element of trip only. All other expenses additional or incidental costs associated with receiving and using the Prize (including flights to Queenstown, travel insurance, arrival/departure transfers, passport fees, pre or post accommodation, transfers, single supplement payment, local payments, meals and activities not covered by the itinerary) are the sole responsibility of the Prize Winner and the Traveller (where relevant). The Promoter and its Partners are not responsible for any use of the Prize, including without limitation availability, any cancellation, delay or rescheduling, and any costs incurred as a result (including, without limitation, travel, and accommodation costs) will be the sole responsibility of the Prize Winner, subject to the Partner’s Booking Conditions. The Prize may not be passed on or gifted for the benefit of anyone else except the Prize Winner and the Traveller.
5.13 The Prize is provided by the Partner and will be subject to the Partner’s Booking Conditions (available here(opens in new window)) and any other terms and conditions as required by the Partner. 6. Governing Law, Limitation of Warranties and Liability
6.1 The Competition and these Terms shall be governed by the laws of Australia. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter (its associated entities, employees, contractors, and agents), and its Partner:
a. disclaim all guarantees, warranties, and representations of any kind in respect of the Competition, the Prize, and the claiming and use of the Prize;
b. exclude any and all liability for any loss (including damage, claim, injury, cost, or expense) which is suffered or incurred by an Entrant in connection with the Competition or the Prize; and
c. will not be responsible for any events beyond their reasonable control, such as unforeseen closures or restrictions due to natural disasters, unexpected weather conditions, COVID-19 or any other pandemic. To the extent an event beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, its Partner or any of their suppliers occurs, the timetable for this Competition, the Prize, and related promotions may be modified by the Promoter.
7. Privacy
7.1 The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with the Competition is governed by the Promoter’s Privacy Policy (available at: New Zealand | Privacy Policy (newzealand.com(opens in new window)) and the Partner’s Privacy Policy (available at: Intrepid Travel Privacy Policy | Intrepid Travel AU(opens in new window)).
7.2 The Promoter may use your personal information for any purpose which is stated to you at the time of collection or that you otherwise authorise and to:
a) verify your identity and to assist you if you forget your username or password for any of the services we provide to you via the Internet;
b) communicate with you;
c) analyse usage of this website;
d) provide you with further information, news, and promotional material;
e) carry out marketing, promotional and publicity purposes including direct marketing, market research and surveys;
f) share with the Partner for the purposes of Intrepid Travel marketing communications (consent to which is a condition of Entry into the Competition);
g) to show you advertising and information that is most relevant to you and your interests; and
H) improve the content of this website and to customise this website to your preferences.
7.3 The Promoter will not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to third parties. Your personal information will be made available internally for the above purposes and we may also disclose your personal information to the Promoter’s Partner, trusted third parties or subcontractors, who have agreed to treat your personal information in accordance with this privacy policy, for similar purposes. Because we operate internationally, the recipients referred to above may be located outside the jurisdiction in which you are located. Your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in New Zealand and other countries that are regarded as ensuring an adequate level of protection for personal information.
7.4 The Promoter will only use or disclose personal information that you have provided to us, or which we have obtained about you for the above-mentioned purposes, or:
a) if you have authorised us to do so;
b) if we believe that the use or disclosure is reasonably necessary to assist a law enforcement agency or an agency responsible for national security in the performance of their functions;
c) if we believe that the use or disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce any legal rights we may have, or is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property and safety of us, our customers, or others; or
d) if we are authorised, required or permitted by law to disclose the information.
7.5 You may have rights of access to and correction of your personal information under the Privacy Act 2020. You may request access to, or correction of, their information by writing to the Promoter at Level 1, 1 Nelson Street, Auckland, New Zealand 1010 or emailing sarah.harrison@tnz.govt.nz.
7.6 By completing an Entry, you consent to receive commercial electronic messages marketing and promoting goods and services which the Promoter considers may be of interest to you such as emails from the Promoter or its Partner, including 100% Pure New Zealand emails. You also consent to receiving any electronic messages containing updated information in relation to the Promoter and its Partner’s news and various other information of related interest. You may unsubscribe at any time to receiving such messages by following the unsubscribe process specified in any such electronic message that you receive.
